P 61

Northrop P-61 Black Widow & F-15 Reporter –
First published in 1994 under the P-61 Black Widow title this revised profile takes an in depth look at Northrop’s attractive and effective nightfighter. Originally conceived in response to an approach from the British Purchasing Commission the type was ultimately to see service only with the US military and civil research agencies. The book follows the development of the P-61 through its prototype stages, with individual chapters on the P-61A & P-61B plus a look at the P-61C, D and experimental versions. A summary of combat usage is also included, where the book scores over the original is in the expanded treatment given to the development aircraft, the Northrop F-15 Reporter and in the 7 pages of close-up colour photography of the Wright-Patterson P-61C and the Beijing Aeronautical Institute’s unique P-61B.  Three pages of 1/72 scale drawings plus a pull out double-sided set of plan view drawings, numerous detail drawings and cockpit layout drawings for the P-61A, B and F-15, make this a must for the Black Widow modeller. Five pages of colour art, including cockpit colour art and a full technical description of the aircraft rounds off the profile The text is fully bi-lingual in Czech and English and the book is printed on good quality art paper with glossy laminated covers, softback, expanded from the original 56 pages to 72.

The cost of this publication is 10.90, plus 0.60 post and packaging.
